Android Wear reportedly getting watch-to-watch sharing features

Google is launching brand new watch-to-watch communication features for Android Wear that are not unlike those on Apple’s Watch, according to Phandroid. Users will reportedly be able to send each other doodles, photos, stickers, messages and more using a feature called “Together.” That’s pretty similar to the Apple Watch’s Digital Touch, which allows users to relay tap patterns, drawings and even heartbeats to each other. Oddly, Android Wear users who want to share items may need to use the same the same watchface, as the feature isn’t system-wide. However, Phandroid admitted that its information on that aspect “is quite old.”

The update will also supposedly bring new interactive watch faces and change the functionality associated with a single-tap. Right now, when you tap once, it opens a launch menu for various apps, settings, etc. With the new update, however, tapping on the new interactive watchfaces will cause them to cycle through different states like time, weather, and sports training info. It can also be used to open new activities, which would slide in from the right side of the watch face.

Finally, there’s good news for G Watch R owners, as the smartwatch will finally have WiFi functionality. LG’s device was left out when that feature arrived with Android 5.1.1, but will get it via an over-the-air update soon. As for the other features, Google has reportedly given developers the latest SDK, and the update is set to roll out next month. Treat all of this with some skepticism, however, as Phandroid admitted that some of its information was old and the rumored functions may not make into the final update.

Vapor is Misfit’s first touchscreen smartwatch

While the wearable market isn’t as hot as it used to be, Misfit is still holding strong with its lineup of attractive fitness trackers, including the recently launched hybrid Phase watch. And now, it finally has a touchscreen smartwatch with Vapor. It looks like a traditional round watch — something plenty of other companies are aiming for — but it’s a bit more refined than than other smartwatches I’ve held. Vapor packs in all of the health tracking features you’ve grown to expect from Misfit, with the addition of built-in GPS and heart-rate tracking. And best of all? It’ll retail for just $199.

The Vapor has a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen, which looked pretty bright in a well-lit hotel room. It’s unclear how it’ll hold up in direct sunlight though. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 2100 processor and it packs in 4GB of storage, which could be useful for exercising without your phone. The Vapor is also water resistant up to 50 meters, though I can’t imagine it’s the sort of thing you’d want to wear while swimming.

Honestly, it’s hard to get excited for smartwatches these days. But the Vapor’s combination of value and features could make it one worth keeping an eye on, especially if you’re looking for something that looks better than typical wearable. Misfit is also developing a custom interface for the Vapor, which features a radial home screen that you navigate by swiping along the edges of the display.

At $199, the Vapor will go head to head with plenty of Android Wear smartwatches. And while we don’t know its release date yet, it’ll likely have to contend with Android Wear 2.0 devices later this year. But if anything, Misfit has proven that a bit of style and polish can make for a successful wearable.

IWC Ingenieur annonce Double Chronographe Titane

La famille Ingenieur IWC gagne une fonction de rattrapante ou rattrapante avec le lancement de la nouvelle Double Chronographe (ou Doppelchronograph en allemand) titane. L'affaire Double Chronographe mesure une importante 45mm x 16mm et offre une finition satinée. Le mouvement calibre 79230 permet au "Doppel" à plusieurs événements de temps. Trouver les prix et papier peint à l'intérieur.

A l'extérieur, cinq têtes de vis sur la lunette sont DLC pour correspondre aux caoutchoutés boutons-poussoirs noirs et protection de la couronne. Pour garder le poids et l'épaisseur dans le contrôle, le boîtier interne en fer doux a été omis. La sangle est en caoutchouc et les cristaux sont saphir anti-reflets, revêtu sur les deux faces. Le dos et couronne vissée dans et résistance à l'eau est de 12 bar ou 120 mètres.

Les compteurs pour les heures, les minutes et les petits (piratage) secondes sont encastrés dans le cadran. Le matériau luminescent dans les mains plaquées rhodium est noir, mais brille dans la nuit.

Le Double Chronographe dispose de trois boutons. En appuyant sur le bouton marche / arrêt à 2 heures commence les deux aiguilles du chronographe centrale, qui sont positionnés l'un au-dessus de l'autre. En appuyant sur le bouton à 10 heures alors que le chronographe est en marche arrête la main dessus ou rattrapante chronographe, tandis que la main en bas continue de fonctionner jusqu'à ce qu'il soit arrêté en appuyant sur le bouton marche / arrêt à 2 heures. Cette méthode permet de mesurer deux courtes périodes de temps différentes (moins d'une minute). En appuyant à nouveau sur le bouton rattrapante secondes instantanément retourne la rattrapante à sa position au-dessus du principal aiguille chronographe. Pour aider à distinguer les écrans, une aiguille de chronographe a une pointe bleue. En appuyant sur le bouton de réinitialisation à 4 réinitialise o'clock les deux aiguilles du chronographe à 12 heures.

Among its many new offerings at January’s SIHH watch salon, Cartier debuted a new, skeletonized version of its iconic Cartier Tank watch. The Cartier Tank MC Two-Tone Skeleton watch showcases a two-tone finish on its openworked movement, Cartier’s in-house Caliber 9619 MC.

The movement in this new Cartier Tank watch — like the openworked Caliber 9614 used in a skeleton version of another popular Cartier men’s watch, the Santos-Dumont Skeleton — is notable for the large Roman numerals (specifically the “III,” “VI,” “IX” and “XII”) formed by the bridges of the movement. For this watch, the movement underwent a two-tone color treatment in which the gray surfaces of the bridges are accented by a layer of fine gold, which matches that of the case, applied at the angles. The effect highlights the traditional hand-chamfering applied to these components, while the negative space of the cut-out areas of Caliber 9619 provide another layer of contrast.

The manual-winding Cartier Caliber 9619 measures 28.6 x 28.6 mm and is composed of 138 parts, including 20 jewels. It has a frequency of 28,800 vph and a power reserve of approximately three days.

The Cartier Tank MC Two-Tone Skeleton watch, priced at $56,000, has a rose-gold case measuring 34.5 x 43.8 mm, with sapphire crystals in the front and back. The rose-gold crown is set with a faceted blue sapphire. The sword-shaped hour and minute hands are in gold-colored steel. The watch is water-resistant to 30 meters and comes on a brown alligator strap with a double-adjustable folding buckle in rose gold. (Click on each photo to enlarge the image.)
